One of the biggest challenges of the waste furnace is dismantling of nuclear reactors. Structures around nuclear reactors and concrete that have undergone long-term operation are activated, and their dose is lethal dose. On the other hand, at the time of construction, the nuclear reactor is carried alone into the containment vessel by the nuclear reactor alone, is installed, and the piping is welded at the nuclear reactor tube part. If the dose problem is solved, even if the reactor has a lethal dose, if the reverse procedure at the time of construction is carried out, the nuclear reactor can be dismantled. I have much experience in nuclear power plant construction and nuclear reactor core change. Based on those experiences, we propose dismantling method of nuclear reactor. Its construction method is simple and innovative compared with the construction method proposed up to now. However, these element technologies are not for nuclear power plants but general existing technologies, and there is no specialty and high feasibility. This post will explain the procedure of dismantling the reactor.
