[3I10] Consideration on Heat Transfer Coefficient of Liquid Metal in Tube Flow

*Hiroyasu MOCHIZUKI1 (1. Tokyo Institute of Technology)

Keywords:Liquid metal, Heat transfer coefficient, Tube flow, CFD simulation, Bulk temperature

Some experimental results of liquid metal heat transfer coefficients have remarkably low Nu numbers. Therefore, apparatuses, measurement methods and experimental data processing methods in the major experiments in the past have been examined and grouped in order of Nu data quality. As a result, some data contain uncertain factors. And, it has been found that there is a large difference in the Nu numbers between the group derived based on the definition of the bulk temperature and the group using the bulk temperature which is linearly interpolated with the inlet and outlet temperatures. It is also clarified by CFD simulations that the Nu number derived by the linear interpolation is largely affected when the Pe number is less than 100 and not affected when the Pe number is larger than 1000.
