In order to investigate the effect of the upward flow on the inflow of spray water into the fuel assembly, an experimental set up that simulates the upflow with an air flow and enables precise measurement of the flow distribution of the spray water to the inside and outside of the fuel assembly. We constructed and carried out SFP spray cooling effectiveness evaluation experiments on a boiling water reactor (BWR) 9×9 and a pressurized water reactor (PWR) 17×17 fuel assembly system.
