[1N11] Problems on Radiation in Fukushima Solved by SilicaTech® Coating Technique
Behavior of Radioactive Cesium and Radiation Shilding Performance of Tungsten Cloth
Keywords:Radiation, Shielding, Cesium, Tungsten, Decontamination, Nuclear Power Plant Accident, TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, X-ray, Neutron, Depth Distribution
The Silica coating technique has been developed at Choetsu Chemistry Research Co. Ltd. Within a shorter time after the TEPCO Daiichi Nuclear Plant Accident, decontamination method and shielding cloth were invented in order to protect Fukushima children from radiation. In the experiments to verify their applicability, the following facts were observed: depth of radioactive cesium was 1.5 cm in soil of school grand and shielding performance from the results on radiation transmission images measured at KURNS.
