Keywords:Porous structure, CHF enhancement, Pool boiling, Electrodeposition method, Wickability

The authors proposed the CHF enhancement technique in saturated pool boiling of water by a Honeycomb Porous Plate (HPP) on the heated surface as an approach to develop In-Vessel Retention. While one of the issues is that how to install the HPP on the surface of reactor vessel. Therefore we propose the method of forming a porous structure directly on the heat transfer surface by electrical deposition, and the CHF was enhance up to 3 times compared to the plain surface by the uniform porous coating.
