Production of tritium (T) from Lithium (Li) in an irradiation rod using high temperature gas cooling reactor has been proposed for procurement of fusion reactors fuels. Production T could be absorbed by Zircaloy-4 co-existing with Li oxide in the rod and hindered to be released by permeation out of the rod. In the present study, rates of hydrogen absorption in the Ni-plated Zry4 were examined at various temperatures.
