[2L07] Development of a real-time measurement for tritium generation rate for fusion blanket system
Keywords:neutron, diamond detector, triton, PHITS
The blanket system in the fusion reactor has a role of moderation and shielding for neutrons, tritium breeding, and heat removal. The diamond detector is a promising candidate as the real-time monitor for fast neutron flux and tritium generation rate. However, due to the sensitivity of diamond for gamma-ray, the appropriate discrimination of pulses by energetic particles (fast neutron, triton, alpha-ray, etc.) from the pulses by gamma-ray is necessary.
In this study, a single crystal CVD diamond detector with the paste of lithium compounds was used to directly measure the energetic triton and alpha-ray during neutron irradiation. The Evaluation of quantitative measurement for tritium generation rate was conducted according to the pulse shape discrimination and the particle transport calculation.
