[2N04] Development of digital signal processing for CdTe semiconductor detector in high dose rate radiation field
Keywords:High dose rate, CdTe detector, Digital signal processing
We propose a simple digital signal processing of pile-up rejection for CdTe detector. At the absorbed dose rate of 5.9 Gy(Si)/h in Nagoya University Cobalt-60 gamma-ray irradiation facility, the output signal from a CdTe detector (2 mm x 2 mm x 0.5 mm) was recorded by analog to digital converter. A digital single delay line process was performed for the digitalized signal and output data was stored in SD card memory. The pile-up rejection was performed in off-line computer. We chose the pulse peaking time as an indicator of whether the recorded signal was piled up or not. Pulse height distribution was calculated with selected data. Clear peaks of 1.17 MeV and 1.33 MeV were observed by this procedure successfully.
