[2N13] Simulation on the Time-of-Flight double-photon imaging with Compton camera

Compton camera has been used for photon imaging in areas like astrophysics and nuclear power plant decommissioning. To improve the quality of image reconstruction for Compton camera, the time-of-flight (TOF) scheme has been proposed together with double-photon coincidence imaging. Target nuclides are those emitting two photons in the whole decay process such as In-111 and K-43. The coincidence of events can greatly lower the noise in the background. The TOF information can be used to locate the origin of photons more precisely in 3-D field of view (FOV). For the TOT-PET system, a time resolution of ~300 ns has been achieved. We can expect TOT technique to be used in a Compton imaging system with multiple detecting modules.
