At the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station Site, contaminated water has been treated with crystalline silicotitanate (CST) which selectively adsorbs Cs and Sr in the presence of seawater components. Since the contaminated water contains more non-radioactive Sr derived from seawater than radioactive Sr, in order to evaluate the performance of CST for removal of radioactive Sr, it is necessary to take account of exchange reaction of the Sr ions. In this study, we conducted a test using radioisotope tracer to confirm the exchange reaction of Sr ions between CST and aqueous solution. The rate of the exchange reaction was evaluated from the test results.
