In the early stage of the molten core accident, a liquid phase might be generated by a eutectic reaction between SUS and B4C. In order to evaluate the solidification behavior of this melt, it is essential to understand the thermophysical properties of this melt. In this study, we focused on the heat capacity of Fe-B molten alloy. In order to evaluate the heat capacity of Fe-B molten alloy, a novel method was developed which allows us to evaluate the heat capacity from the cooling behavior of the droplet sample levitated by an aerodynamic levitation technique.
