Keywords:Vertical pipe, Countercurrent flow, Flooding at upper end, Flow characteristics, Liquid film thickness

Effects of diameters and fluid properties on flow characteristics in vertical pipes under flooding at the top end were evaluated, and it was judged that correlations for counter-current flow limitation (CCFL), wall friction factor fw and liquid film thickness δ might be applied to the pressurizer surge line with the diameter of about 300 mm.
