Keywords:cement solidification, low-level radioactive waste, inorganic hydrates, inorganic hydroxides, transition metal ions

Several inorganic hydrates and hydroxides were gamma-ray irradiated to determine GH2 for safe cement solidification with low level nuclear waste. Although most of hydrates show lower GH2 with large amount of hydrated water molecules than that of small amount ones, FeSO4nH2O are out of the rule.

Physisorbed water enhanced almost twice for GH2 of several hydroxides. Removal of physisorbed and free waters may be important for the cement solidification. Effect of transition metal ions for GH2 should be reported on the lecture.
