[1L03] Experimental investigation of fluid-mixing performance of electromagnetic force controlling fin installed in MHD film-flow
Keywords:Divertor, Magnetohydrodynamics
This study experimented to investigate the effects of the electromagnetic force controlling (EFC) fin which was proposed for MHD film-flow mixing in the liquid metal divertor. The experiment was conducted with 5 to 8 mm thickness of a Ga-In-Sn film-flow in an acrylic open channel. A non-uniform transverse magnetic field up to 1.38 T was applied by a superconducting magnet. Before introducing the EFC fin, a preliminary experiment was conducted using a metal fin. As a result, a high-velocity region was observed between the fin and liquid surface. Moreover, the velocity near the fin was 30% smaller than the case without the fin. We plan to report experimental results of a case with the EFC fin at the conference.
