Conventionally, proportional counters such as He-3 have been mainly used as neutron detectors in nuclear material detectors, but there is a problem that these are very expensive. In this study, I devised a water Cherenkov detector as a low-cost neutron detector, and examined its application to a device using the rotary irradiation method, which is a new nuclear material detection method.
