Keywords:Nuclear Decision-Making, Multiple Criteria, Social Acceptance, Nuclear Nonproliferation, Nuclear Safety, Security & Safeguards, Bilateral/Multilateral Civilian Nuclear Cooperation
In this paper, the authors have discussed the multiple criteria-based decision-making approach to highlight the importance and utilization of such an approach to solve the complexity in nuclear decision-making. The motivation of studying the multiple criteria method lies in how to consider each significant aspect of nuclear power--economics, nuclear waste, social acceptance, nuclear nonproliferation, nuclear safety, security & safeguards, and so on. The authors have also investigated the inclusion of necessary stakeholders in the final decision-making process to facilitate the nuclear operators, regulators, international organizations, and governments. This research has the scope to enhance the peaceful applications of nuclear power and bilateral/multilateral civilian nuclear cooperation focusing on strengthening informed as well as involved decision-making processes in nuclear.
