In order to reduce the disposal load as much as possible, it is effective to separate Minor Actinides (MA) from high level waste and to store it stably without waiting for the practical application of transmutarion means such as fast reactor. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Tokyo Inst. of Technology, and Kyoto Univ. jointly developed a process with small environmental loading for the early practical application of MA separation and storage, by adopting an existing DGA system extractant with results in MA extraction, and drawing the features of "Composed of CHON components, reducing waste load" of the same extractant maximally by combining it with a flame retardant low vaporization heat diluent.
