Keywords:radiolysis, extraction chromatography, adsorbent, TEHDGA extractant

JAEA has been developing extraction chromatography for minor actinide recovery to reduce the volume of radioactive waste and radiotoxicity. Safety assessment was performed by investigating the radiolysis products of TEHDGA-impregnated silica-based adsorbent under acid immersion and gamma-ray irradiation. Both of residual insoluble products and eluted soluble products were estimated by employing mass analysis, and their structures became more complicated as acid concentration increases.
