For evaluation of properties of cesium (Cs) chemisorbed compounds onto the structural materials in nuclear reactors during severe accidents, temperature dependency of the chemical forms of Cs chemisorbed compounds was investigated based on simulation tests of Cs chemisorption onto stainless steel, acquisition of thermodynamic data and thermodynamic equilibrium calculations. It was revealed that different Cs chemisorbed compounds, such as Cs-Si-O, Cs-Fe-Si-O and Cs-Fe-O, were formed depending on the temperature conditions. From this result, it was suggested that the chemical forms of chemisorbed Cs are different depending on the location in nuclear reactors.
