Evaluation of electrochemical corrosion potential (ECP) in a boiling water reactor (BWR) environment (high temperature-high purity water) with a ECP model is essential for management of stress corrosion cracking of 316L stainless steel (SS) used in the BWR. However, electrochemical reactions and their parameters in the BWR environment still have some uncertainty. In this study, electrochemical reactions on the 316LSS in oxygen environment were considered based on a polarisation curve measured in the BWR environment. Electrochemical reaction of water overlaps on that of oxygen. Also, calculated ECP with determined electrochemical reaction parameters could reproduce measured data in a wide range of oxygen concentration. The electrochemical reactions and their parameters in the BWR environment could be established for the ECP calculation.
