Keywords:fast reactor recycle, minor actinides, low decontamination fuel

Fast reactor recycling technologies using low decontamination minor actinide (MA)-bearing fuels have been developed to achieve high-level radioactive waste volume reduction and toxicity reduction. In this research, we will focus on research and development related to fuel technology, and develop research using a nitric acid solution obtained by reprocessing and recovering actinides from MOX fuels irradiated in "Joyo" as a starting material. Research and development includes (1) denitration technology, (2) remote fuel manufacturing technology, (3) basic physical properties and fuel design, (4) analytical technology development and transmutation evaluation of minor actinides, (5) post-irradiation test technology, and (6) TREAT transient irradiation test. Through these research and development, it was aimed to lay the foundation for the steady irradiation test of low decontamination MA-bearing fuel in Joyo and to demonstrate the feasibility of fuel technology for future practical use.
