In the development of the irradiation target, the design of the irradiation target with high manufacturing efficiency was examined by utilizing the furnace characteristics of PWR. In addition, for the design of the irradiation target, the capsule type and the tube type irradiation target were noticed, and the characteristic evaluation for contributing to the decision of the basic specification was carried out.
In the development of the Mo-99 supply process, the basic concept of the Mo-99 supply process to the RI manufacturers was examined based on the basic specification of the MoO3 irradiation target. In order to produce the high specific activity Mo-99, expensive MoO3 in which Mo-98 is concentrated is required. In order to reduce the supply cost, it is desirable to recover and reuse the Mo-98 from the waste Mo. Therefore, in the development of the Mo-98 recovery process, the basic concept of the recovery process of Mo-98 recovered from the RI manufacturers was examined.
