Fission products (FPs) from the containment failure sites may be released to the environment through the reactor building in the event of a severe accident. To develop a realistic evaluation method for FP release behavior, it is crucial to quantify FPs removal effect on the contain vessel penetrations. In this paper, we report on the experimental method with the actual conditions and the results of preliminary tests.
