Fission products (FPs) from the containment failure sites may be released to the environment through the reactor building in the event of a severe accident. To develop a realistic evaluation method for FP release behavior, simulated tests on FP penetration effect have been conducted using rectangular tubes that simulate containment penetrations. In this paper, we report on the basic data obtained.
