[1H02] Basic Study on Ultrasonic Investigation System for Decommission of Nuclear Reactor
Keywords:UVP, Ultrasound measurement, Robot
In order to decommission the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, it is necessary to understand the situation inside the reactor. In addition, the leakage of decay heat coolant from the containment vessel of the reactor has become a problem, and it is necessary to investigate the leakage point at the same time.
In this paper, we focus on ultrasonic sensors with excellent radiation resistance and propose a remote flow mapping method using ultrasonic measurement technology. Flow mapping is a method to obtain the velocity distribution of a flow field using ultrasonic velocity profile measurement (UVP). However, due to the limitation of the measurement range and the complexity of the reactor, it is necessary to perform measurements at multiple points. Therefore, we developed a system combined with a robot and an ultrasonic-based position estimation system and verified its effectiveness.
