The impact on the safety of geological disposal due to changes in the vitrified waste inventory and thermal generation rate by the prolonged cooling period of spent fuel before reprocessing is evaluated. Based on the NUMO Pre-siting SDM-based Safety Case , the basic scenario (groundwater scenario) and human intrusion scenario (bowling worker exposure) are evaluated. There are no major changes in the groundwater scenario, but there is an effect of the increase in Am241 on the exposure of boring worker.
