[1J07] Effects of Oxidation Treatment on Suppression of Flow Accelerated Corrosion of Carbon Steel Containing Impurity Level of Chromium
Keywords:Boiling Water Reactor, Carbon Steel, Chromium, Flow Accelerated Corrosion, Hydrogen Water Chemistry
The effect of oxidation of the wetted surface on flow accelerated corrosion (FAC) at 2 m / s, 190 ℃, and dissolved oxygen <3 μg/L was investigated for the carbon steel pipes containing 0.015 to 0.31 wt% Cr. As results it was found that thinning rate of carbon steel pipes containing 0.13 wt% or more of Cr was reduced to 1/100 or less of that of untreated carbon steel pipes by oxidation treatment.
