[1K10] Development test for the Mineralization Device of Analytical Waste Liquid

We plan to change the moisture analysis method to Karl Fischer’s one (wet type) from dry type at Plutonium Fuel Development Center in Japan Atomic Energy Agency. However, this method has issued to be solved, that is treatment of liquid waste included organic compound which has never been considered. Therefore, we are developing a technology to inorganic the waste liquid. Moreover, this chemical reaction should proceed moderate condition such as room temperature and atmosphere pressure for safety operation because this contaminated liquid waste with plutonium and uranium must to be handled in the glove box. We report the result of organic compound treatment with mediated electrochemical oxidation process (MEO) and sonochemistry oxidation process (SO).
