[1K16] Development of low temperature solidification process of radioactive waste liquid by freeze drying method

*Akihiko Kajinami1, Sou Watanabe2 (1. Faculty of Engineering, Kobe University, 2. Japan Atomic Energy Agency)

Keywords:freeze drying method, radioactive waste liquid, low temperature solidification

The glass solidification method of liquid radioactive waste at low temperature by freeze drying method was developed. Aqueous solutions of pseudo radioactive waste and glass network component are mixed and hydrolyzed. The water in the gel was removed by freeze drying method. The waste component was solidified in the gel.
The chemical stability and the structure was investigated.
