In the recent design of the helical demonstration reactor FFHR-b3, an application of the cartridge-type blanket is proposed for easier maintenance. In this design, the liquid metals are stored in a pool structure in the bottom of the vacuum vessel. Therefore, the liquid metal materials have the criteria of low vapor pressure as well as sufficient tritium breeding efficiency, low density, and low melting point. For these aspects, the candidate composition and performance of liquid metals were evaluated in this study.
