The additive manufacturing technology can create metal parts which have a complex shape without welding process. In the present study, powder-based electron beam additive manufacturing of 316L austenitic steel (AM316L: Fe-17.3Cr-12.5Ni-2.1Mo) were performed. The microstructure and chemical compositions of AM 316L were metallurgically investigated. The chemical compatibility with liquid metal coolants (liquid tin and liquid lead bismuth) of fusion reactors and fast reactors were also investigated by means of the corrosion tests at 500 ℃ for 250 hours.
