[1L13] Effects of heavy-ion irradiation on electrical properties and hydrogen isotope permeation behavior of functional ceramic coatings
Keywords:Tritium, Permeation, Coating, Irradiation, Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy
Ceramic coatings have been developed to mitigate tritium permeation in fusion reactor blankets. In recent years, heavy-ion irradiation for the coatings was conducted, and the irradiation effects on microstructural change and permeation reduction performance in the coatings were investigated in detail. However, most methods used to characterize these coating properties are destructive and time-consuming, which is difficult to apply to actual components of the reactor. Therefore, in this presentation, the irradiation effects to the coatings on electrical property and deuterium permeation behavior were investigated through the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy as a convenient approach and the deuterium permeation measurement as a conventional method in order to evaluate the applicability of the electrical measurement as a characterization of the coatings.
