[2B18] Measurement of quenching factors of alpha-ray and proton in Li loaded liquid scintillator for reactor neutrino monitor
Keywords:radiation measurement , radiation physics, accelerator, quenching, reactor neutrino monitor
A reactor neutrino monitor has been developed to monitor the operating status for reactors and the U/Pu ratio of the fuel by observing electron anti-neutrinos from the reactor. In particular, we are developing Li-loaded liquid scintillator with pulse shape discrimination as neutrino detectors. We have been investigated the ability of the Li-loaded liquid scintillator, such as light yield, pulse shape discrimination, neutron capture reaction, transmittance, and quenching factors.
The Li-loaded liquid scintillator was irradiated with alpha and proton beams of various energies using the tandem accelerator at The Wakasa Wan Energy Research Center. We will report the result of the quenching factors of the developed Li-loaded liquid scintillator.
