An energy dispersive (EDS) PIXE chamber is installed in the tandem accelerator at the Nuclear Research Institute of Tokyo City University. EDS has a shorter analysis time than wavelength dispersive (WDS), but its energy resolution is more than two orders of magnitude lower than that of WDS. Conventional methods improve the resolution by increasing the distance between the spectroscopic crystal and the detector, but the small size of the chamber makes it difficult to increase the distance. Therefore, we aim to experimentally demonstrate that the resolution does not degrade even in a small space using image processing techniques. In this study, we designed and fabricated an analysis chamber and investigated how much energy resolution can be obtained.
