[2E07] Validation of Correlation for Wall Friction Factor for Falling Liquid Film in Vertical Pipes

Keywords:Vertical pipe, Countercurrent flow, Liquid film thickness, Wall friction factor, Free falling film

A correlation for the wall friction factor fw for the falling liquid film under flooding at the top end in a vertical pipe was proposed in our previous study, but validation data for fw under flooding conditions are few. In this study, therefore, a correlation for the thickness δ of the free falling film was obtained by using the fw correlation, and the validity of the fw correlation was confirmed by comparing the obtained δ correlation with the existing δ data.
