[2E15] High Current Density in Water Electrolysis using Honeycomb Porous material
Keywords:Alkaline water electrolysis, Critical current density, Electric storage technology, Honeycomb porous plate , Critical heat flux
The world's energy consumption is increasing year by year, and there is an urgent need to take measures against global warming. Therefore, nuclear power generation is expected to play a major role in saving fossil fuel resources and combating global warming. In particular, it is considered to generate hydrogen by water electrolysis with electricity generated by nuclear power for sotring electricity recently. Since the electrode area of the water electrolysis device has a great influence on the initial cost, there is a need to increase the current density as much as possible and reduce the required electrode area. Therefore, we conducted an experiment to see if the critical current density of hydrogen generation could be improved by installing a porous honeycomb plate, which had been successfully cooled by ultra-high heat flux, on the surface of the electrode of water electrolysis.
