In the vitrification of high-level radioactive nuclear waste, the behavior of metallic particles with high melting points should be clarified for improvement of efficiency and safety of glass melter. However, the understanding of the inside situation in high-temperature molten grass is very difficult and evaluations using numerical simulation have been performed mostly. In the present study, to investigate the sedimentation and deposition process of metallic particles in molten glass experimentally, a visualization method using neutron imaging is established. The falling behavior of some metallic spheres is observed and the viscosity of molten metal is estimated from the acquired image sequence.
