[2E_PL02] Experimental Programs toward Understanding Reactor Pressure Vessel Failure Mechanism at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station
After the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear power plant accident, severe accident (SA) researches become more important. Phenomena observed in SA are highly complex and affect each other. Additionally, they are in high pressure/temperature conditions and over a wide range of time scale. Therefore, observations and measurements by experiments are not straightforward and simulation technologies play an important role. In the present session, recent trends for SA simulations, experiments and international activities will be focused. Also, a framework of SA research to develop next-generation SA simulation technologies will be discussed.
