[3B13] Random and scatter noise reduction in PET imaging using entangled annihilation gamma photons with Compton PET pixel detectors
Keywords:CT-less PET, Compton Scattering Tomography, Attenuation Correction, Scatter Correction
CT-less PET with Compton Scattering Tomography (CST) is studied in order to obtain attenuation and scattering map for PET image reconstruction without CT.
After taking data with PET, PET and CST are reconstructed. PET is reconstructed first for source distribution then CST is reconstructed with the source distribution. PET and CST images are reconstructed with updated images.
This approach is expected to provide direct attenuation map because it uses 511 keV gamma rays and the image is taken without taking extra dose from CT.
