(5)Calculation on Shutdown Dose Rate of Beam Dump

In the frame of the IFMIF/EVEDA project, the shutdown dose rate of the beam dump has been calculated for the Linear IFMIF Prototype Accelerator (LIPAc) for deuteron beam accelerated up to 5 MeV with a beam current of 125 mA. The calculation was performed for activated materials produced by nuclear reactions of the copper cone in the beam dump with deuterons and neutrons independently, i.e., Cu–d and Cu–n reactions. Percentages of the total shutdown dose rate contribution on both reactions, and nuclear species contributing the shutdown dose rate have been examined.
