[3G12] Importance Measure Considering Common Cause Failure
Keywords:seismic PRA, common cause failure, seismic correlation, importance measure, Fussell-Vesely
This paper proposes an importance measure that takes into account the seismic correlation caused by earthquakes, and presents the results of investigating the difference from the current measures.
The current FV (Fussell-Vesely) importance measure is based on the assumption that equipment failures occur independently, however failures are occurred simultaneously in the case of earthquake events. Therefore, in this study, an equation that considers the correlation of damage with respect to FV importance is proposed, and its effectiveness and applicability are examined.
