[3J01] R&D of anti-corrosion technology for full-ceramics reactor core

The aim of this project is to develop a multiple corrosion protection technology by surface modification of ceramic structures and ceramic coating on the structures. Although it is extremely difficult to coat ceramics on ceramics, alumina coating on SiC composite is carried out using the CVD technology of AIST to form the technical basis for densification of the coating layer. The obtained coating layer itself and its interface are thoroughly investigated by the state-of-the-art ceramic coating test technology of Tohoku University and NIMS. In this series of talks, these results will be summarized and reported.
