Facing an Era of Drone Delivery
Keywords:drone delivery, air space rights, area ratio of sites, random line, two-part fee
Drone delivery is expected to be may useful logistics transportation. We focus on the air space charges which apply to the air space above private sites. The purpose of this paper is to establish the fundamental system on air space fares for drone delivery by analyzing how long and how many drones cross private sites. Using the knowledge of the random line of integral geometry, we examine the effect of area ratio of the sites and the shape of the study area on the expectations of crossing number and length by drone flight route on lattice study areas. In particular, we propose the usefulness of using fixed charges and variable charges properly at the urban area and the rural area by examining the analytical solutions of the correlation coefficients between crossing number and length.
