[44] An Empirical Study on Sustainability of the Life Support Services in Municipalities with Small Population
Keywords:life support services, sustainability, generalized linear model
Life support services such as public transportation and retail is needed for our daily life. It is expected that the number of the consumers who use the services will decrease due to the population decrease. Therefore, it is necessary for the municipalities to make policies to maintain the services. If the sustainability of the services can be assessed, it is helpful for them to decide when such a policy should be made and which service should be the target. In this study, we evaluate the sustainability of the services using generalized linear model. The sociodemographic factors which affect the sustainability such as the number of the population and population density is specified and the regression model which predicts the number of the business establishments for each service is derived.
