[94] Proposal of the Method to Reflect Disaster Risk Information More Suitable for Localities in Flood Hazard Maps
A case study of the Making Reservoir Flood Map in Isumi City, Chiba, Japan
Keywords:Flood Hazard Map, Disaster Risk Information, Buffer Zone, Reservoir
There are many cases showing that the flood hazard maps only mapping the maximum inundation depth area due to space limitations. Even if, the inundation depth is shallow, evacuation is difficult when the flow rate is fast. Thus, it is necessary to post the maximum flow velocity and flood arrival time on the hazard map. However, not all users can understand the numerical information posted. In order to post the hazard range in the flood hazard map more suitable for localities, through the case of making reservoir flood map in Isumi city, we compared the inundation area data with the elevation data, conducted the field survey to verify the validity, and proposed new disaster risk range information mapping method namely buffer zone.
