This paper aims to clarify the relationship between the variation of building damage to the outer walls and the wind direction/wind speed. And to verify whether the topographic factors and the spacing between adjacent buildings can be cited as the influencing factors, in the case of the Reiwa 1 the Boso Peninsula Typhoon in the Mera District, Tateyama City, Chiba Prefecture in Japan.
Findings are as follows. Firstly, regarding the relationship between wind direction/velocity and damage to the outer wall, the outer wall can be damaged even if strong winds are not expected. The outer wall facing the sea is more likely to get damage. Secondly, the variation of the damage rate is affected by topography. Thirdly, regarding the relationship between the distance between adjacent buildings and damage to the outer wall, it was found that the damage decreases when the distance between adjacent buildings is 1m or less.
