[160] Structural Characteristics of the Affiliation-Network that cause Chain Reaction in Shopping District
Case Study in Yanagase and Mitono-machi Shopping Districts, Gifu

This study focuses on the transition of the human network structure in actual activities of a shopping district to describe the importance of continuous human cooperation and ceaseless challenges among it. Using social network analysis, we clarified the mechanism of the chain reaction of activities in a case study on past twenty years in Yanagase and Mitono-machi shopping districts in Gifu. The person who have indicated the remarkably high betweenness centrality, that is ‘high deviation’ in this study, were easily able to collect information from various individuals, and play the role to launch new activity among surrounding individuals. While original person’s high deviation decreased because this new activity made additional links among peripheral individuals, another individual who became high deviation got opportunity to set up next activity. In the history of this shopping districts, it was shown that this series of chain reaction has continued basically in a similar composition.
