In recent years, urban development has been carried out to enrich open spaces, and these open spaces are connected each other. The connection of the open space is important for users to choose a place freely according to their purpose. Therefore, in order to study the connected open space in urban from the viewpoint of use, it is important to investigate the connected space holistically and temporally instead of looking at each space individually. In this study, we attempted to analyze the actual usage of the connected open spaces by conducting a circulating observation survey of the open spaces in SAKURA MACHI Kumamoto. As a result, it was found that the usage behavior of each floor in the connected open spaces was different and the usage was characterized. It was also shown that it is possible to understand the overall and temporal trend of the usage behavior in the connected open spaces by using the circulating observation survey.
