[164] Study on Down-Zoning of Height Restriction in the Area of Cultural Landscape in Kanazawa
Keywords: Cultural Landscape, Height Zoning, Landscape Value, Evolutionary Conservation
Concept of evolutionary conservation is essential for the conservation plan of urban Cultural Landscape in Japan. In this study, height control of the Kanazawa Castle Town is examined to preserve the vista from the castle site, which is the fundamental value of spatial structure developed by landscape plan of Kanazawa Castle Town in 17C. Down zoning was decided according to the simulation to confirm the building height that does not exceed the castle stone wall. The value concept is sufficiently functioned as the key ground for the decision of planning regulation under the market oriented social conditions where the down zoning is hardly accepted.
