The purpose of this study is to clarify the restoration and landscaping contents caused by the system design and operational support system about the characteristics of historic buildings.The system design and operational support system considering the characteristics of historic buildings has been utilized in the Chikugo-yoshii Preservation District for Groups of Historic Buildings since 1996. First, we analyze the detail of the system design considering the characteristics of historic buildings and the operational support system including the participation of designers in restoration and landscaping, restoration and landscaping manual, and the experience of construction work in many relations. Second, we compare the states before and after the restoration or landscaping by analysis pictures taken from the site survey and public documents.
